Welcome to ProRhythm

Welcome to the new ProRhythm!

Since 1997, ProRhythm has been known as Transurgical. Beginning with our inception, we have pioneered the application of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to advance the minimally invasive treatment of complex medical conditions.

In recent years, we have concentrated our efforts on the development of HIFU for the treatment of a debilitating arrhythmia, Atrial Fibrillation (AF). AF is an uncontrollable, rapid, heartbeat, which can result in a significant decline in one’s quality of life and can lead to significant, life threatening complications. Globally, approximately 8 million people are afflicted with AF and the current treatment options are often inadequate.

As our focus has shifted to the treatment of AF, we have found that the name “Transurgical” no longer represents our core business and in many instances has been confusing to our key customers.
In order to more accurately reflect our core business and to communicate our goal of restoring patients with Atrial Fibrillation to their normal heart beat, sinus rhythm, on May 19, 2004, Transurgical changed it’s name to ProRhythm, Inc.

The expertise of countless cardiac electrophysiologists has been applied to find a way to treat AF through a technique known as cardiac ablation. While demonstrating that ablation of cardiac tissue can effectively treat Atrial Fibrillation, current technology has limited the overall success and therefore, the adoption of the procedure.

ProRhythm’s HIFU technology is currently being used today to treat AF in clinical trials in Europe and the United States to treat AF. We are excited as we believe that our technology can play a significant role in the treatment of this disease and help to improve the lives of countless individuals who are afflicted with Atrial Fibrillation.

I invite you to explore our website and learn more about how this exciting technology is being applied to the treatment of this disease.
Sincerely,

Reinhard Warnking
President and CEO
